The tealight candle is quite similar to the votive candle, its pretty much the same family. Tealights are really widely use, I would be surprised if you could walk into any house that has a woman living in it that doesn’t have at least one tealight candle holder. There is good reason why they are used by so many people, you can use them anywhere in your home they have a really simple look that can fit in with any décor at all, fancy or plain. These candles also come in a huge range of colors, as well as the usual white, so you can match the color of the candles to the color of your home with ease. A lot of the time these colors will indicate a scent that they give off, for example red would be strawberry or cherry, or something along those lines, green could be apple or pear and white is no scent at all, though sometimes white can be vanilla.
When it comes to buying tealights you will normally find you can buy them in huge bulk, a lot of stores will sell packs of 100 plain, white candles for only a few dollars, the scented candles tend to be sold in packs of 6, 12 and so on, these tend to cost a little bit extra.
These days you can also get LED tealight candles, these are battery powered and are great if you are worried about the dangers of fire in your home, if you have children running around you may not want any naked flames for them to hurt themselves on. It also means that they don’t give off any smoke or scent.
Buying A Tealight Candle Holder
Obviously you are going to need to get yourself a tealight candle holder if you are going to be using tealights around your home. If you don’t the little tin cups that the candle is poured into can get really hot and burn and mark the tops of your units or tables.
Thankfully tealight candle holders are generally quite similar in price to the candles, cheap. If you stop by somewhere like Target you will be able to find packs of 3 tea light holders for about $15 or less. The same goes for Ikea, they normally have a huge range of tealight holders, some made from glass, some from wood and so on, they normally have a really nice selection and as usual they are reasonably priced.
